Tom Foster
Architectural Designer | Michael Green Architecture
Tom developed a deeply rooted affection for environmental ecologies while growing up in rural Northern Ontario, within the boreal and broadleaf forests of the traditional territories of the Ojibway, Odawa and Potawatomi peoples. He has woven this passion into his studies and work, and is interested in how architecture practice today can advocate for the voices of the communities, cultures, and environments we design with.
Tom completed his B.Sc with first class honours at the University of Bath ( UK) and his M.Arch degree at UBC SALA, graduating with the RAIC Student Medal. He brings with him professional experience from across Canada and Europe ranging from construction and carpentry to urban, architectural, and low carbon passive design.
Tom’s love for the environment often draws him to the outdoors, and the outdoors into his apartment. He can be found swimming and camping along the coast, skiing in the mountains, or woodworking and gardening around his studio.
