Good Design hinges on a strong idea - and how well that idea can be communicated (or sold) throughout all phases of a project. I am an Architect AIBC who has practiced locally in Vancouver for nearly 10 years. As a part of a large, international firm, I am fortunate to be able to work on a diverse range of scales/typologies. I focus primarily on Civic work between our Victoria, Vancouver, and Penticton Studios. This includes single-family homes, wineries, mixed-use residential, and other notable community/cultural projects and Master Plans. I am also one of our more experienced Mass Timber designers. At a larger-scale, I am also heavily involved with our practice's healthcare studio - integrating at early-stages in these projects to help shape design concepts and narratives. My work here includes projects locally and internationally. I am experienced with all phases of project delivery, and I work closely with teams to ensure that design intent is maintained. No project is a simple, linear process - a curve-ball can be thrown at any time. As designers, it is the creative and collaborative solutions to these variables that can often make or break a project. I am a BC native, who graduated from Dalhousie School of Architecture (BEDS, M.Arch) - where I received the Thesis Prize for top design thesis. My work was heavily involved in craft and construction, with much time spent with various design-build studios. These included Coastal Studio (Dalhousie), Free Lab (Dalhousie), Rural Studio (Auburn University), and work with Mackay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects (Ghost Lab, various wood design studios). Looking forward to meeting you!
