Kristin Defer
Landscape Architect | ETA Landscape Architecture
As one of eta’s Associates, Kristin brings with her over 8 years of experience in landscape architecture. She received her Masters of Landscape Architecture from UBC, and graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Landscape and Urban Design.
Kristin has worked on a wide range of projects, from residential, to commercial, to public realm. As a project manager for development sites, Kristin ensures that each new home project in the Metro Vancouver has unique programming and design contributions, creating a comforting oasis for residents. Kristin is also the leader with the First Nations collaboration projects at eta, giving her a knowledge of the expectations and strategies involved with moving towards a place of reconciliation.
She has also contributed to the design of institutional projects, such as residences at UBC, and a number of private secondary schools including Rothewood Academy, Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House, and Southpointe School.
In her role as Associate, Kristin mentors junior colleagues and is part of the overall management team in the office. She also takes pride in meeting clients’ expectations and deadlines. Client service is high on her list of professional priorities.
Kristin enjoys travel, cooking, and cuddling cats in her spare time.
